Updating

Introduction to Updating

jMailerPro has a built in apperatus for updating itself automatically. However, this system has limitations. Only servers equipped with mod_suphp (SuPHP) can use the updater at all times. Those without it will need to chmod the entire jMailerPro directory to 0777 (Recursively) before running the updater and then chaninging it back once it is complete (leaving the secured folder with 0777). If you are unable to update jMailerPro automatically, don't worry. We try to keep the packages backward compatible with old versions, and allow them to fix themselves automatically. As with most software, sometimes complete reinstallation is the best option. You can also have us reinstall it for you, for a $15 resinstallation fee payable via paypal.

Automatic Updating

When jMailerPro releases a new update, your jMailerPro will display this message:
New Update Available! Click Here To Install Patch.

Clicking on the link will update your jMailerPro to the latest version automatically. Once it is complete, click on the "Return to mailer" link at the bottom of the list.

Note: Upgrading from previous versions to 1.07 or higher requires a 2 step update process. You will simply be displayed "Finish Update to Version 1.07" after the first patch. Clicking this link will complete the update process.

Manual Updating

Start out by unpacking the newest jMailerPro package somewhere you can find it. Next, upload the files inside the package to the jMailerPro directory on your hosting account. Overwrite files if you are prompted.

jMailerPro packages are coded to automatically fix old installations. Again, this process has limited availability to SuPHP enabled servers. If you do not have this, you will need to chmod the jMailerPro directory to 0777 temporarily, and then login to jMailerPro to complete the update. As always chmod the jMailerPro directory to 0775 when it is complete.

If you encounter extensive problems with this process, we suggest a complete reinstallation of your software. This should resolve your problems. You can also have us reinstall it for you for a $15 reinstallation fee.
